Built for Good brings IronHead Roofing’s people, skills, resources, and community partners together to help Oregon veterans, families, schools, and organizations when it matters most.
We see what a safe home means to a family. We meet veterans who have spent their lives serving others. We see schools, nonprofits, and local teams doing everything they can with limited time and money. We also see moments when one unexpected problem can become more than a family should have to carry alone. Built for Good gives our charitable work a clearer purpose and gives people across Oregon a place to ask for help.
It is how we put what we have to use, our trade, our team, our relationships, and our resources, to serve the places that have supported IronHead from the beginning.
This part of the mission is personal.
IronHead co-founder Paul Spies served as a Sergeant and Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps. Built for Veterans honors that service by helping veterans, active-duty military members, and their families through roof donations, critical repairs, charitable projects, and trusted partnerships.
When someone has spent years serving others, we believe their community should be ready to show up for them too.
Oregon is full of people and organizations doing good work close to home.
Built for Community helps schools, youth programs, nonprofits, environmental groups, veteran organizations, fundraising events, and other local efforts continue building something worthwhile.
Sometimes that means financial support. Sometimes it means labor, materials, sponsorship, collaboration, or connecting the right people. The form may change, but the purpose remains the same: help good organizations keep moving forward.
A failing roof is stressful under any circumstances. For a family already facing illness, loss, financial hardship, or another unexpected challenge, it can feel impossible.
Built for Families in Need helps identify homeowners who may need a donated roof, an urgent repair, or another form of assistance that protects the place they call home.
We cannot take on every request. But we will consider every situation carefully, honestly, and with respect for the people involved.
Built for Legacy honors IronHead co-founder Andrew Barnes by carrying forward the values that shaped the way he lived.
Andrew believed in helping people, mentoring young people, investing in local organizations, protecting Oregon’s outdoors, and stepping forward when someone needed a hand.
This pillar turns those values into action through the Andrew Barnes Foundation, volunteer efforts, charitable projects, and partnerships created to serve others for years to come.
Not every need is obvious. Sometimes the people who need help most are the least likely to ask for it themselves.
You can also reach out on your own behalf. You do not need a polished application or the perfect words. Share what is happening, who is involved, and why you believe Built for Good may be able to help.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that we can take it on. It does make sure the need is seen, heard, and thoughtfully considered.
Built for Good is a new name, but the commitment behind it is not new. IronHead Roofing has supported schools, youth sports, veterans’ causes, environmental organizations, fundraising efforts, nonprofit events, and families throughout Oregon for years.

Supporting the Andrew Barnes Foundation and the annual ABF Open Golf Tournament.
Contributing to local events, sponsorships, and charitable projects across Oregon.
Andrew Barnes was one of IronHead Roofing’s co-founders, but his impact reached far beyond the company he helped build.
He was a husband, a father, a friend, a mentor, and a community leader. He cared about people. He supported local organizations, invested in young people, valued the Oregon outdoors, and gave his time when someone needed him.
That is the legacy Built for Good is meant to carry forward. Not simply by talking about the kind of person Andrew was, but by continuing to do the things that mattered to him.
Over the years, IronHead has had the opportunity to contribute to organizations and causes including:
Nominate a veteran. Tell us about a family going through a difficult time. Introduce us to a school, nonprofit, or organization with a project worth building. Ask about a partnership, sponsorship, volunteer opportunity, or another way to join the mission.
We cannot say yes to everything. But we can listen. We can be honest about what is possible. And when we have the ability to help, we can show up and get to work.
Built for Good is still growing, and there is more work ahead. Our vision is to connect IronHead employees, homeowners, veterans, families, nonprofits, schools, local businesses, and the Andrew Barnes Foundation around opportunities to serve.
One request may lead to a repaired home. One introduction may connect an organization with the right resources. One person speaking up may help us discover a need that would otherwise go unseen.
